Can anyone guess (or know) how much ATF the cooler holds ?

I check and double check under my rig, I see zero drips and it doesn't leave any stains anywhere. why was
my ATF low ?

a few months ago I swapped my radiator without adding ATF, and checked it recently after it was shifting funny, and it was below cold mark when warm.

So, I pumped it out until it was not pumping any more ( about 2 quarts via the dipstick) and I added 4, and it is now perfect when hot, right between the hot marks.

So I wonder, how much could have been in the radiator ATF cooler when I yanked it ?
----
history:

1) milkshake
2) 45 quarts power flush, filter, new pn:1998 rad, all is well again
3) 8 months later, radiator had coolant leak
4) warranty radiator, I swapped it myself, did not add ATF
5) lots of driving around town, some on highway, no issues
6) lately noticed this specific symptom:

Only when:

coming off the highway from 70mph, and coming to an offramp, if I had
to stop 100% at the street (not slow, but full stop) and before I ran at
surface speeds for about 5 miles, the tranny would drop out of drive and I
would have no forward gear. I sit there and wait, and suddenly bam, it would
shift to drive and I would be able to go. I could throw it in neutral and other gears,
and it would only be in drive when ready (about 15-45 seconds). I started to put it in neutral
coming off ramps, (so when it finally shifted it wouldn't slam in) and hit the flashers
warning traffic behind me there is a numbnut in front of them and for a few
days, I just came off the highways trying not to need to stop.

anyhow, I checked fluid and it was low, so I figured the problem was, after a high speed run, the fluid wasn't settled enough for the tranny to switch around unless I could drive slow for a while. makes sense. the tranny has never actually slipped when in gear. it is just
the shifting action it does when coming down from drive, stop, and proceed forward. in town, it had no issues at all.

so, anyone know how much the radiator holds ? I am guessing 2 quarts or close ?

I'd guess less than 1/2 quart myself, unless you are talking about all the lines too. I usually plug the lines to keep it from draining out.
