Buy or Make "Gap Guards" for tacoma body lift???

Anyone ever make their own gap guards for their Yota after a body lift? Im sick of looking at that big gap between the frame and the underside of the truck bed. Seems like i could fab something for way cheaper than spending over $100 for em at suspension connection. Thoughts?

Here's a link:

http://www.liftlips.com/

I know someone on here (can't remember who) made their own and I don't think it cost much. I'm sure they will post...

I don't think he's on much anymore but IIRC, Ryan (Tanto) made some for his Tacoma when he had his BL on his truck. He took it off, sold it to me, and went long travel. You might try looking up his old posts. I'm pretty sure he posted about it.

Search for "Tanto"

Easy fix. Go to Lowes or Home depot and buy some heavy duty pond liner and make your own. I did this on my Tacoma and spent next to nothing.

i'm pretty sure Rock Slide made some for his 4runner (i know, not a Tacoma) but search for his post on his body lift and see what he did, maybe it will give you some useful ideas to try out.

Ok cool. Hows that work for the back? The front I can see it working for , but from what i've seen, most rear ones are a solid piece.

Here's the ones I made:

I used some thick rubber like about 1/8" thick. The pond liners would be too thin IMHO.

You're close, but I skimped out on making a set and just bought the oem fender liners for an early model toy truck from my local dealer. . Got the idea from Steve @ Sonoran Steel.

IIRC, I got a deal on them and paid less then nothing for them. Don't know what they sell for at regular price. Here's some pics of mine:

AH, got ya! I can definitely do that! One Question tho! I think i might have misplaced my original fender clips for the originals. Where can i get some extras, WITHOUT having to order em? A Home Depot or something? And just rubber material?

I hated those original clips, I replaced them with bolts and big washers so I can easily remove the flaps for service work (makes engine work much easier) The bolts screw into either factory nuts welded into the interfender or I used these clip-on nuts:

The rubber sheet I got at an industrial supply, a place that makes up rubber hoses and stuff for the oil drilling companies.

what everybody around here does for fender liners is get old tires and cut off the tread and just use the rubber plys underneath. works great, costs nothing.

I looked in the yellow pages under rubber and found a local industrial rubber and hose supplier for the oil field industry here. If you are in OKC I'll look it up for you, they are close to the airport.
