Brembo rotors

Ok, so I'm tired of 4 runner shaking to a stop and am going to replace the rotors, probaly with Brembo. I see on alot of these threads people replace both the pads and rotors when doing this. I'm assuming this is just a matter of convenience. I just replaced pads a few months back with supposedly high quality (according to auto parts guy) ceramic pads and don't want to replace these as well if not necessary. This would certainly be ok not to, wouldn't it? On a side note, I thought i had a ˟˟˟˟ty mechanic because the rotors kept warping after every time he turned them, he kept did it for free, twice I think.... now I realize it was the rotors that were ˟˟˟˟ty.

The more you turn them, the thinner they get, the easier they warp. I got a set of new front brembos that I don't need, what kinda truck you got? Also, repack or replace the bearings while you've got it apart, it's an expensive thing to pay for labor to do both seperately and bearings can start to go after 10 years, though my 86 lasted 15 years until I needed to do them...

Brembos are good and yes, you should be able to reuse your current brake pads.

I agree. I gave up on the OEM rotors and pads about 15,000 miles ago. The Brembo's have been fine and the PF pads that I put on at that time are certainly an improvement over stock. I'm sure there are other good brands of rotors out there, but the Brembos seem proven per the forum.

www.taylorautomotive.com has them for pretty cheap, but someone listed another site that was pretty cheap as well. Maybe he or she will chime in on this thread.

i just paid ~$53 a piece from Tirerack. I really enjoy coming to a stop w/o the whole vehicle shaking. Make sure you get the right size.

I paid about $48 each & s+h from somewhere on the web. Anywhere in that ballpark is decent. Also, I've heard that Autozone carries them. Tirerack is reputable...
