brakes squeaking
I just noticed my fron tbrakes are starting to squeak. It has been @ 100k since I had the pads changed. Should I spray w/ WD 40 to see if something else is causing the squeak?

Actually...it works both ways.... let your pads get to the metal, and stomp on them...what happens? You blow piston seals in the calipers....
100k on front pads???? Where the hell did you get pads that last that long? I have to change mine every 15-25k.

Well after 100,000 miles on one set, I can believe that. I've never seen a caliper like what you are describing. Are you saying that the seals end up contacting the bore of the caliper at a point that does not seal, or are you saying the pistons come all the way out of the caliper? I'm just curious, just cause I haven't seen it doesn't mean that it won't happen.

Ya...they will over extend pushing the boot out to far to seal...have seen it happen before.....although not on my runners.... usually on vehicles with only 1 or 2 pistons on the same side, these calipers may not have that issue as there are 4 pistons, 2 on each side..well at least the 91-95's do.

I found the receipt where I bought the last pads, they say blue ceramic and a product # if anyone wants it. The squeaking has actually stopped and i will continue to monitor, probaly get pads soon as it seems to be about time. Yes, i will buy the same kind!!!

Unless that 100 K includes 98K of constant highway driving, you're way over due. Even then I wouldn't wait or the next sound you hear will be metal on metal.
