Bought some recovery gear



ProComp 3" x 30'

30,000lb pull

it's massive!

this should come in handy at pismo beach

price was 64 out the door

i also looked in to a tow hitch reciever+ shackle, he wanted like 70 or 80 bucks for it! is that normal? wheres a good place to buy it online?

45 bucks.... check on ebay you can find cheaper ones by WARN. ( i got mine for like 29 bucks!)

Nice strap.

$70 is a rip off for a shackle & receiver.
Here is mine from Central 4WD minus the nice red & black paint I did to mine.

how safe/secure is the tow hitch as a recovery point?

i got my warn hitch/shackle on ebay! (gotta love ebay!!!!)

29 bucks + shipping

you can ask mike and extreme offroad too... i'm sure he'll give ya hella-of-a-deal!!

70 for the shackle is a rip (fyi)...

Very safe...First time I ever used my winch, it was just to test it out April of '02 on Jim (mytruck's) red Toyota.

as for the CB, i'm not sure if i want the cobra that has all the controls on the handset as seen here http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...391059-7016014

or the front firing single din size CB with base unit

and for antennas... i dont know if i want a magnetic antenna (this would probably be best for me) or if i want something secured permanitly
