WOW,... I just created a post about this,... cool. I just installed Bosch +4's and I can't say I like them,... I mean,... I can't say I dont like em either. My old car ran better on Coper tip plugs,... copper is a better electrical conductor than platinum so,... I dont know. Platinum is more durable then copper? Hmmm,... Im waiting for responces too,...

I know on boosted engines copper was the way to go;I started out with platinums on my Eclipse but under boost they missed like crazy. I guess on NA engines platinums would be good since they do have a long life expectancy.

I am pretty sure that copper is the best bet for performance under any circumstances, they just don't last as long as platinum. If your goal is to not change plugs for another 100k miles, then I guess you have a winner....

Thats what I thought,... I'm going back to copper then because,... it may be me but my truck feels a bit more sluggish then it did with the copper tips and the copper tips were shot! Also,... since the +4's its been tkaing an extra crank to get her started,... I think.

I'll tell you about my experience with Bosch 4+ plugs...when I've installed it, I didn't see that much difference. After a few month a plug in the 6th cylinder broke (split in half). My mechanic said that he's never seen nothing like that before. It was split right at the end where the sparks come from.
Don't buy them!!!!

Search for spark plugs on the forum here and you will get the same results.
Stick with Nippons or NGKs, that's what Toyota used from the factory and they are the best.
I fell for the Plats several years ago (before the Internet) on my '90 truck, and they burned out real fast.
I have never had a problem with Nippon plugs, and that's what is in my rig now.
The B Plats may be good for some makes, but not the Toys.

I put Bosch platinum+4's in my old 2.7 Tacoma. There was no increase in power, mileage etc. Then after about 4 months it started skipping pretty bad. I changed the wires which only slightly helped. I did some research and found because there is 4 electrods and the gap is bigger than normal plugs, the resistance is bigger. Its harder for the stock ignition to make an adequate spark with those plugs. I put in stock plugs and it ran fine after.

My rule of thumb is use platinum plugs on domestic vehicles and NGKs or Densos on Jap vehicles.
I have never had good experiences using platinums in Japanese engines (not sure why ).

I Like 'em so far
I have a 92 Runner V6 with 198K and they seem to help alot. My gas milage has gone up ( I always keep track of it ) and the idle is smoother and the low end power seemes smoother also but I only put them in 500 miles ago.

Ok,... so I am going to change back to the standard copper tip,... my truck is hesitant when starting. Wasn't doing this before,... granted it is colder out now but still,... I had the same problem with my last car and these plugs.

I used to work in a garage and the guy I worked for was about the best in town. He would not go anywhere near a bosch plug. The guy I worked for and the guy that works on my bikes swear by NGK, I do to. I've never had a problem with them.

There was no noticeable difference in felt performance or mileage.
They just have so far lasted twice as long as the NGK's I have before.

there's a set of denso iridium plugs in performance products catalog. does anyone have any first hand experience with these? how do they differ from the stock plugs, or with the 4+'s
