Bolt on sliders for 3rd. generation 4runners?
Does anyone know of a company offering bolt on sliders for a 97 4runner? I was going to order a set from Shrockworks but then I noticed on their website they only offer them for 4th generation 4runners.

We have a set of sliders on our 97 product 4runner. They are not on the site yet. They stand out a bit more than these for a step, I made them custom for my wife.

Stubb's Sliders are recommended that you weld them on. Call Richard/email him at Stubb's Welding. He's stupendous about answering questions. Welding on sliders isn't as hard and it makes them stronger, that being said, check out Trail-Gear.I'm pretty sure you can bolt on with their mounting gassets.

The shrockworks sliders on the website for the 4th gen look great. Looking forward to the 3rd gens being available.
What I would like to see in a slider:
- no modification to the pinch weld.
- 15 degree angle (to match the angle of the underbody).
- extend far enough out that they can be used for a step.
- about 65" in length, this would leave enough room for the stock SR5 front mudguard and extend all the way to edge of the rear wheel well.
- bolt on is nice - I can drill a decent hole, but I can't weld for crap.

I've heard welding on the frame can weaken the frame a bit and bolt on is the way to go? Does it really matter?

it is common knowledge welding is more secure than bolt on...in any situation. as far as frame damage goes, i seriously doubt anyone would run into trouble unless you had some wicked welding going through the frame tube..sort of like an embedded weld and showed the sliders some serious competition, but even still you'd most likely be fine

A few questions:
1) Are the sliders similar to the 4th gen, a round protruding tube welded to a square tube that sits under the the pinch weld?
2) Does the square tube sit under the pinch weld or is it closer to the frame? (its hard to tell from the 4th gen website pictures)
3) What is the typical gap between the pinch weld and the slider?
4) Do they attach the same as the 4th gen (clamp around the frame)?
5) Black semi-gloss powder coating included?
6) how much?
7) shipping to 98360?
