Bolt pattern: 5 vs 6
Is there really any differences between 5 and 6 lug nuts... besides the obvious? I notice most cheeps have the 5 while toyotas have one more. Personally i prefer 6 lugs, it just looks more secured.

its stronger....but the toyota wheels is lug supporting (i know some 4runners are thats why people have trouble balancing the wheels, dunno about my truck) while all 5 lug vehicles I know of are hub supporting....I'd prefer 5 with the weight on the hub....but as long as my wheels dont fly off I'm happy

More lugs and a wider bolt circle make it stronger. Most of the six lug Toyota axles have a 5 1/2" diamater bolt circle. It might be a smaller circle for 5 lug axles.

the 4x2 toyota uses a 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern, the same pattern a mustang, ranger, explorer, wrangler, cherokee and many otehr vehicles have used over the years... the dodge durango/dakota (which are also half ton rated trucks) use a 6 on 4.5" bolt pattern.... th1/2 ton mini chevies share the same pattern as a camaro/vette and have a 5 on 4.75 pattern 1/2 tons fullsize chevys use a 6 on 5.5 and a lot of fullsize fords use a 5 on 5.5" pattern as did a lot of the old fullsize axles == rather now or their metric equivalent.....
