Black Rims on a Black 4Runner?

Hi guys,

Haven't posted in a while (been too busy modding my truck!)

Anyway, what are your thoughts on black rims on a black truck? I am considering Wheeler's black steelies for my black 4Runner. Not sure if it will be too black, or will it look cool. I definitely don't want chrome or polished rims. I've seen a few pics of black on black, but am still undecided. Posting pics of any black 4Runners with black rims would be greatly appreciated.

Also, are there any other good sources for 16 x 8 black rims?

Thanks,

Not my cup of tea, but I know others who really like theirs.

Check out RooRRunner's 4Runner. I know he just added some black rims to his black 3rd Gen.

I actually like the black on black look. Makes it look tough--Only if it's done right. I like silver, too. Check this guy's out.

I'm personally a fan of good ol' silver, though.

I love that rear bumper, anyone know what kind it is?

I like black on black, the American Racing Mojave Teflon wheels always look nice I think.

Lee and his friend built that bumper, its a sweet setup, he just put a tire carrier on it recently.

No pictures, but I saw a black sport package Runner a few years ago with dark tinted windows and gloss black powdercoated 01+ TRD Tacoma wheels. Still my favorite 4runner that I've seen.

Painting the stockers works nice too (and it saves you a lot of money). Link is in my sig if you're interested.

I second the Teflons, I have had the American racing victors on my 4runner for about 8 months and still love them. They are very low maintenance and they wont rust out like the steel wheels. I usually rinse them off about every three weeks and they always look like new.

If you do end up getting the Teflons get the stainless caps and lugs, even less to worry about!

My truck is not Black but here is a pic of my rims when I had 33" tires on them.

Thanks for all the replies, your trucks look awesome! The more I think about it, the more I am starting to like the black on black look. Teflon wheels would be sweet, (I thought about American Racing "Chamber"), but a little more expensive than I would like. I thought about painting my stock rims, but eventually I want to run 33's, so I will need the extra upper control arm clearance.

Right now I am leaning towards Wheelers black powdercoated aluminum rims. They look great, allow for 33's, are lightweight, and not overly expensive.
