Black or polished chrome wheels for my rig?

I am researching different wheels for my rig and can't decide which would look best based on the color of my 4Runner: black or chrome? Steelies or alloys? I will be doing some occasional off-roading. Any advice would be appreciated.

Also....I plan to lose the running boards and get some sliders painted black or a type of silver to match the trim.

I will always vote for fj80 wheels. IMO chrome is a little much on the 4runners and you can leave the LC wheels as is or paint them.

Its your decision, but, I have the same color truck as you with black rims and I really like them.

I like alloys because they are much lighter than the steelies, thus less rolling weight. I would get the chrome, not much of a fan of black rims.

I'd say black rims. Chrome wouldn't match your paint. Either a powdercoat or flat black. btw, SC. nice runner.

i vote black. you might check out procomp's extreme alloy selection. if you want black wheels with the lightness of alloy. another option is having yours powder coated to the color of your choice.

i also vote black out of those two choices. have you considered a gunmetal/graphite color? I think graphite would also look good on your color runner. i'm getting my fzj80 wheels powdercoated in graphite and they should look amazing.
