Bilstein shock question...

Ok here it is, I have a 2000 4runner 4wd and it is going to get the PP rear coils and I have been figuring out what shock I can use. I called Bilstein up today and he told me I can use a rear shock from a stock 91-97 Landcruiser FJ80. Has anyone done this or heard of this? All help is appreciated. Thanks!

I'm running those shocks on the rear of my truck right now, and they work, course Im running 5" of rear lift.

The Landcruiser shocks on your near-stock rig will not be wise. They will be much too long...and will probably blow out due to compression.

They probably said they would work because they have the stud/eye combo.

I was planning to go this route since I have the bilstein for the 96 4runner but read all the negative feedbacks of using the PP springs with bilstein shocks thus saved my money and went with the SS system 7.2.

Theres many positives to this set up as well I hear. I know a few people that run it and love it....I just want to find the best bilsteins to match it I want 5125s....but i am running Donahoes up front with TC UCA which i think is a great front set up. I guess I will just go with the HD stock replacement billies in back but was hoping I could get something else....anyone with the PP coils have any other ideas??
