bilstein 1500 shocks on stock taco rear end?

so my 98 4x4 3.4 v6 taco needs shocks.... BAD!!

i have some bilstein 1500 shocks that i ran with 4 inch skyjacker rear springs on my 4runner. the shocks are still good with lots of life left, anyway... my question is will they work in the stock rear end of my taco? i do lots of street driving, i figure not all of the travel of the shock will be used.... i just want to know if they'll work and the pros and cons of doing so.

thanks to everyone

I've done suspension work on a Runner (98 I think) when I worked at my buddy's. IIRC The rear shocks are definitely different than Taco shocks. Those Runner shocks mount the same way as the 05up Tacos, with a stud at the top and "eylet" or whatever at the bottom. The 05below Tacos use "eyelets" both sides of the shocks.

Question

what about welding/making custom mounts for these bilstein shocks to mount at a 45 degree angle pointing inwards on top of the axle? would this provide any extra travel with the stock leaf springs or add any real benefit to articulation of the rear axle? would something like this even be worth it? correct me if i'm wrong, i've just seen shocks mounted like this and was curious. it might not even be worth the trouble.

anybody??? i really need some help, my tires are starting to cup and i want to do something before they ruin my tires!
