JLs are very good also.
I run one JL W6 15" in the rig, and it sounds low & clean.

Side beneift is getting a back massage from the big woofer too.

after talking to my guy at he audio store....we decided that a nice well powered bridged two channel amp would be best. i went with the d lass mtx because its super cool(temp) ll the time and from numerous sources i have heard its the best sub-amp on the market for the price.....but theyare still really expensive for the d class.

hope this helps

in my opinion...sony makes great home audio visual stuff but i would stick with alpine,jl,kenwood, rockford fosgate..in my cars.

Best is VERY subjective. Be more specific upon what you want. Do you want bass to rip your head off or do you want pure sq, or do you want a mix of both.

To be honest, you get what you pay for, but if you are on a budget Image Dynamic's IDQ12 comes to mind as does Elemental Design's lower end subs, Digital Designs 2000 series (im getting a set of 9900...,) Crossfire's BMF...

All of what I have mentioned are competition proven subs. In the right install most of them have taken world records in spl and sq (especially the IDQ)

There is no "best" sub...what kind of application are we talking about? Do you want pure "bump" with no definition, or all sound quality and no impact? I have a crystal CMP 15, it hits h-a-r-d and sounds fantastic, but it's a bit on the $$$ side....plus you need an amp...and wires...and some way to get the signal from the head unit (if it's stock) ... all that stuff costs $$$

Im glad you are happy with your bazooka, but I had one of those loooong ago too. At first it was great, and as time progressed it wasn't near enough... I really dont recommend bazooka unless you are interested in SoundQuality.

but if you are happy hey, dat cool and dat's what its about!

you should be able to find the L7s for about 209+ shipping each online. Once you find the lowest price you can, go to www.sounddomain.com, do their price match and purchase through SD so you'll get a warrenty too.

a mono amp can modulate music on one channel. a two channel can modulate two channels......and so on. so for your sub i say put a mono or two channel bridged(bridging takes two channels and makes them one, in controll and power) and get a nice four chanel amp foryour speaers so that you can still use thefade and balance functions on your head...

hope this helps.

sure....run the sub off the mono and run the speakers off the head. It should soundfantastic but leave you wanting better door speaker power.

Its a great starting point though. I say get a 15" and a good powered amp. You will be astounded by the change over the factory sounds.

Go with some Image Dynamics otherwise known as IDQ's or if u got some money get a IDMax for louder bass... IDMax is more of a SPL sub but it has good SQ while IDQ's are very good SQ but have pretty good SPL....
JL's are good but if you want dont want to keep changing your system i would suggest getting IDMax's the first time and you should stay very happy
Class D amps are very worth it.... especially in california during the summer it gets hot over here and amps are constantly overheating... I run a memphis st1000d very good hasnt overheated once and it always stays cool...

As many have said already, for the price and quality you can not beat the Image Dynamics IDQ series (heck even their lower end ID series is good). They sound incredible. If you want to spend some more money and are into total sound quality, I recommend the Illusion Audio carbon fiber series (personal favorite) or the any of the Focal subs.

For SPL, I've been impressed by the JL and Eclipse subs.

Are those the square ones? Don't they have a cheaper one (L5 ?) I'm probably going for one (or two) of those. Who knows?
