Best off road lights/cheapest prices

I'm in the market for 4 offroad lights. Preferably 130 watts or better. If I had 4 would I need to get a bigger altenator? Which lights does everyone use? Do you like/dislike? How much did you pay?

Thanks,
Jason

I believe IPF makes good quality lights as well, but you don't hear as much about them as you do the lightforces

There are hundreds of threads about lights and I've been jumped for asking this myself, but you dont necessarily need a bigger alternator as long as you keep the amperage lower than the alt. puts out. I am running 2 130 watt KC hilites on my rig and it drops my RPMs a little so I know the alternator's load is beginning to be full. IPFs and Hellas seem to be a popular choice as far as lights go. Search and you might be conviced to whatever brand.

I have Hella 500's I just installed and put in Hella 130W Replacement bulbs. They are great lights, and the whole deal only cost $70 (Lights, housings, wiring, relays, 130W bulbs, and misc other.)

You guys spend a lot of money on lights. The owner before me put a pair of 100W Wal-Mart lights on the front of my Dodge. They worked like a charm and lit the reflectors up over a mile away. I think they only ran $30. I'll be buying those when it comes time for lights for me.

Not to hijack the thread, but how do you like those Hella knockoffs? I just bought two sets for my roof rack, as I have the Hella 500's on the bumper. I didn't want to cough up $160 when I could spend $65 for the same look.

I'm considering the pro comps. I was thinking about the 130 watt 6 inch ones but they are a spot type beam. Is this good for wheeling. will it light the area all around the truck or just a single spot. I know it says spot light but those of you who have them must be able to give me an idea of how they would perfom. I have a kc 55 watter and it has a spot beam and it is really a spot beam. Lights just one spot. I want to put 4 of these on my roof. What do you think??

Thanks a lot,
Jason
