Best exterior paint wax

Now that the summer has come and its always sunny outside, you can really see the light scratches and marks the exterior paint has. Last weekend i got my black and decker rotating buffing machine and used Zymol wax on one whole side of the car. It looks realllllly good...... but lasts for barely a couple days. So does anyone have any advice as to what i can use that will get rid of the light scratches it has, make the paint shine, feel smooth, and last longer than a few days? Thanks in advance.....

Oh, and if it can be gotten at a local retailer, that would help....

Read my detail site listed in my sig file.
I used Zymol (discussed on my detail site) and I too thought it looked great, but it did not last.

Watch out for that buffer you are using...the best out there is the Porter Cable, once again discussed on my site.
You can burn paint with an improper unit that is not a "ramdom orbit" type machine.

Ive heard lots of good things about Zaino but is there anything i can pick up at a local store that works as well or close to it?

Corey..... you have a REAL nice site there. Lots of good info. I am indeed using a random orbit polisher. Doesnt look as fancy as the one your using but i think it serves it purpose. Anyway, the surface being used that actually touches the car is a 100% cotton towel with elastic to hold it on (i have more than one for when they get old/dirty). Is this okay to use?

All your info is appreciated. Thanks

I'm a fan of Klasse myself. But I see in your next message you want something you can pick up at a typical store. In that case, I'd recommend Meguires Deep Crystal, all three steps. The results aren't as good as Klasse or Zaino's, and it won't last as long. But for generic store purchasing, it's one of the best out there.

I've been using "Meguiar's Mirror Glaze #26 Professional Hi-Tech Yellow Wax" on this truck for 11 years and look for yourself http://community.webshots.com/photo/...87536486nrNPYb You can buy it at auto paint supply stores.

I've never tried Klasse or Zaino's though they may be better for all I know.

Thanks for the comps.
I try and get usefull info out there.

I'd pitch the cotton pads you are using.
Foam pads are the best, and the best I have ran across are the Griot's ones, even though they are a little more money.
You get what you pay for with Griot's products.

I bet you can put on the backing plate to your random orbital, and then get the correct pads to use.

I've been using Meguires products for 10 years and have had no problems with 'em so I haven't bothered changing. I detailed my Runner 5 months ago and when clean it still looks good but I also do the detail spray at least once a month plus my truck is garaged during the day and I work nites so it rarely sees the sun so I'm sure that helps.
