Bang for the buck power 3.4, NA, Boosted etc
So I was recently going to get a supercharger for my 99 Limited when I discovered the many many additional steps that should be taken when installing this unit. Things that significantly drive up the price of the install.
I couldn't see a thread like this, if there is one send the link my way!
So what choices have you made with your 3.4 with regards to power adders?
Supercharger? Turbo?
Stay naturally aspirated? If so, what mods did you do?
Is there a basic, boosted install you can do so the hit isn't as hard on the wallet when doing the upgrade? An install that your safe to later do supporting along the way? (I know valve body upgrade is a must for autos)
Let's hear what you did, in what order, heck what you did and didn't like and what you're happier with now. I already did the ported intake box (no deckplate right now, but I don't offroad much if ever), love the sound.

Check out www.URDusa.com They sell all the upgrade stuff for supercharged rigs and turbo'd ones too! www.Downeyoff-road.com for headers IMO and a nice intake kit from AEM or URD also sells some. Lots of things can be done to gain more power out of your 3.4

the AEM "dry" intake is good for about another 6 horsepower over the deckplate mod.
The purpose of the deckplate for the port is so you can easily screw back in the deckplate insert for water crossings or a return to a closed air box. Without the screw in portion you just have a hole in the airbox which will hurt you at resale time.
Yeah the S/C is full of complications-don't get me wrong we all want more power- but the 7th injector and auto tranny complications are not cheap to modify, and running premium fuel all the time is going to add up also.
Ponder going the other direction and decreasing your vehicle weight. Some folks run without spare tires/back seat/lighter wheels/smaller tires to feel an increase in their power.
