Ball joints/Tie Rod price

I found this deal on ebay I wanted to see if anyone else has purchased from these guys. Doesn't it seem like a good price?

There's a reason it's so cheap. Buy your parts from Toyota.

Not necessarily.... I agree that some parts should be Toyota Genuine, but some parts are too similar to have to pay 2 times the price.

Ask if they offer a warranty.

I asked them about warranty and I'm still waiting to hear back.

I've also been hunting around for prices and after getting off the phone with toyota and hearing my total came out to $563 I pretty much know that's not the route I'll be going.

If anyone has any good places they have purchased their junk from I would appreciate a line

I got mine from AutoPartsWarehouse.com. Moog parts, and IIRC it was about $250 for idler arm, upper and lower BJ and tie rods

The ebay auction I found does a 15 month warranty.

Ardent How long ago did you get those prices? Was it for both inner/outer tie rods? Cause that's a smokin deal you got! I just went on there and the shopping cart was well into the $500 range with the parts you listed you got.

I bought two tie rods recently off of ebay from a company called bestsuspensionparts or bestsuspensionproducts or something. I've only had them on about 1 month so far but initial quality is great and they were only $30. Customer service and shipping was always great.

edit: their username on ebay is bestsuspension and the store is called World Suspension.

Um, it was probably 2 years ago now. Yeah, I got inners and outers. I remember the shop wanted something like $600 to do all of it and I saved a bunch.

Oh crap, I just realized you have a 3rd gen (this is for your '99 4Runner, right?). That's probably the difference. Sorry I posted and got your hopes up w/o fully checkin...

No worries. I'm starting to figure out how much cheaper things are for the 1st gen vs the 3rd gen.

I bought a similar package for my 1990, and it only lasted a year, not many miles either. This is excellent if you want to sell your vehicle, but hardly worth the labor, it is junk. Buy from toyotapartssales, they have good prices.

Rock Auto has tie rod inners at about 1/2 the price of my local Yota dealer-and they are a Toyota part. They were even about $10 less than trdparts4u.com

I have an extra unused Beck Arnley tie rod inner if anyone needs one. 101-4435 is part number.

Ron is that a single inner tie rod or do you have both sides?

I have a single unused and unopened-they are interchangeable from one side to the other.

I have another one I would throw in- but it is used factory, seems fine with no play, but used all the same.

$15 plus shipping. I used to have a YotaTech marketplace ad but it aged out.

now, i buy all my parts from work, discount, lifetime warranties, etc. BUT, when i am low on cash and know i will need a part i have purchased from www.rockauto.com. pretty low prices, however, if you want to warranty, as with any place, they need the old part back first, or at the time of exchange (if dealing store front). this can cause a down time longer than dealing with a store front. they sell mquay-norris, moog, i think some energy stuff, basically the same stuff as stores, but much cheaper. check them out it just might be of use to you.
