Bake Master Cylinder - New or Rebuild? 00 4runner

Ok.. some of you may have followed my follies.

Basically I was replacing my front pads and rotors, removed caliper (because it is a solid line) one of the boots was ripped and two of them seemed to be coming off.. so I ordered a rebuild kit.

Reinstalled, existing caliper (waiting for kit to comin, so I put it back in so I would have vehicle for the day and weekend) Bled brakes with the little bottle etc but thought I would asked neighbour to comeover and help with final bleeding (pump and hold), guess they put the pedal to the floor.. now pedal does not hold pressure.

So.. From the advise from the forum sounds like my MC is gone. Or at least the seal.

I just did the MC on my clutch 4 months ago so therefore I guess it makes sense from a timing perspective.

So.. Rebuild or Replace? Rebuild kit is 65$ from dealer(1 week), new.. $345 (next day).

What are the chances that the cylinder wall is scratched etc. I guess I should just bit the bullet and buy the whole thing??? And I assume stick with toyota vs aftermarket...

thanks for the help.. I've opened a huge can of worms.. next purchase should be a power bleeder.

Thanks in advance to all those who reply.

Well, I've read a number of articles on bleeding the system. (btw some do say put pedal to the floor) now I know better.

Ordered a remanufactured master from Car Quest.

So that's what I'll be doing next week.

now I'm thinking Vacum or power bleeder???
