Bad news
I posted a thread the other day about my runner misfiring, worse after my 650 mile trip to Idaho, and when I got home it was knocking a little. I got tired of chasing it and took it to the dealer. They called an hour after I dropped it off and said that the driverside head gasket was leaking into the # 5 cylinder (causing my P0305 misfire code) and washing down the cylinder walls. Funny thing is it hasn't been smoking at all. It started knocking after it warmed up. Well, it sits in the driveway awaiting a decision on what to do with it. I think I'm selling it.
I did decide to buy another vehicle though, an 01 Tahoe.

I'll post pics shortly, make an offer. It's really clean and still runs. I could even drive it to Sac. I just drove it home from Idaho, I didn't know the head gasket was bad though.

They said that there were some small score marks on the cylinder wall which would mean rebuild if it was too bad and I don't think I want to do another motor right now. I did 2 in my 87, 1 in my Formula and just don't have the energy to do another one right now.
That is my old 1st gen, I sold it in May for $5,000.
