I picked up these about a month ago at Autozone and finally mounted them to the hitch tonight. The 1" body lift provided me with just enough space to mount these between the hitch and the bumper. I didn't have time to wire them so I'm not sure how well they work. I unbolted the tail section of the hitch and removed it so that I was able to drill and tap mounting holes. I only wish I had mounted them a little further back on the hitch I guess I can always fix that. I was surprised at how heavy that one section of the hitch was. It makes a hell of a land anchor.

Nice ones though. I may end up wiring mine soon. How are you going to wire it? I think you can connect them directly to the trailer wiring harness...but I am not too sure about the capacity of the trailer wiring harness. Please keep us posted.

I used to have dealer installed Hella's in my stock front bumper. So the switch and relay are still set up on the low beams. I might just tap into those and switch on the auxilaries when needed. I also might custom fab some brackets for those hellas and tuck them up high under the TJM and point them down towards the front of the front tires. Although I don't know that the current fuse and relay will handle all four lights. Any other ideas?

So which lights did you choose to use? What are there dimensions, because 1" is a small amount of space? I love the idea of keeping them up and away from getting broken off.

P.S. I was thinking about going with KC Hilites kit that includes the wiring harness and then buy a little switch they also offer so they can be turnede on and off manually.

There is already about a 1/2" gap between the hitch and bumper. The 1" body lift expands that to about 1 1/2". I'll measure the dimensions on the lights tonight to give a better idea. The lights were inexpensive (<$25)so I'm wondering how long they will last. The name brand is Pilot.

I have all 4 of these going to one relay
50W each on top and 100W (or so they say) on the bottom

Actually I dont' run into many tailgaters. The few times I've used it has been to show people that have asked about it or to signal the person behind me that they're blinding me with their highbeams

I'm still debating setting up a water pump with an in-cab switch to spritz a little water at the windshields of tailgaters

TS, I used to have those same lights on my hitch on both sides of my receiver opening. They are really bright for such a small housing. Don't leave them on too long because the fuse will blow. I backed into a stop sign leaving a friend's house and broke one of the lights. I went to AutoZone and picked up the more rounded set of PIAAs for the same price. They're slightly more water-resistant too.

Also, I have this problem forgetting that they're on when I'm driving. Since I had a warrant out, that problem landed me in jail for a few hours. Now I'm going to wire them to my reverse lights. Just a heads up!

I'm going to wire them tomorrow but I'm still unsure of how I will do it. I would like to tap into the reverse wire on the trailer harness but I also want to be able to turn them on manually with a switch.

Yeah, I've been checking that out too

I know what you mean about compliments. I've taken my truck to Discount Tire Co. 4 times last few months (new tires, re-balance, tire rotation, and tire siping) and I always get a few comments, especially about my rear lights.
