Automatic Transmission Flush ?'s

My dealer is wantining 79.99 for a transmission flush on my 2001 4Runner but they said if I want the gasket replaced it would be extra. Should'nt a new gasket be included in this price? Are there any filters that need to be replaced? Thanks in advance for any help.

If they flush it through the cooler lines they won't even pull the pan down.
So if you want them to pull the pan and clean the filter, then it would be extra.

How often should the filter be cleaned? Is the 79.99 a decent price for a flush and how much extra should I expect to pay if the gasket is replaced? Sorry I'm asking so many questions.

I like to clean the filter and pan about every 45-50k mi
I would guess you might be looking at $50-70 more to pull the pan and clean the filter.
My suggestion would be just to have them pull the pan, clean the filter and refill.
If you are mechanically inclined you can do it yourself for the cost of the fluid only.

Sounds like a fair price. I recall the local Spoofy Lube wanted about $119 + tax for the complete flush and cleaning of the pan + gasket replacement.

This is yet another compelling economic reason to switch to synthetics (longer service life).
