Where can I get my hands on an ARB switch and the pretty little blue air lines. I'm in the process of getting an ARB 3rd w/ 5.29s but the lines and switch are not included. Where can I get these and how much would they run me approx???

Anyone kow exaclty what I would need if all I were getting was a set-up 3rd. I know I need the switches and covers for the rear locker and compressor, then I know the nice bling blue air line. Aside from that what would I need to compete the install?

Is it a new set-up? If not, then you may need a new bulkhead fitting kit. It's good to have one as a spare regardless.

What compressor are you using? Do you have a 85/105 psi pressure swith, or is that what you're asking about? You'll also need the ARB solenoid.

ARB sells all this stuff directly as well. Call to check if the prices are cheaper . . .

It's a completly set up 3rd with 5.29 Percesion gears. Will I still need the bulkhead fitting. I don't have a compressor but I will prolly be going with one of the Outback Extream Air units, like the one that was up in the group buy. I wanna be able to air up my tires at a good rate, so an ARB compresor is out of the question. Knowing that it's an already assembeled 3rd what else is there?

The switches are made by carling and the solenoids by macvalves. Don't buy the expensive 1/8" BSP to 1/4"NPT kit from these suppliers. Just go to a hardware store and spend a buck. I've got wiring diagrams on my web page (I should rescan them better) and some other info. You'll need the bulkhead ferrils. You might as well get them from ARB.

Actually you can also just get a manual air valve to actuate the locker and not mess with all the electrical. You still have to regulate the compressor to 105psi though.

Geez I'm glad I got a guy that has a double ARB set-up in his FJ80 that knows how this crap works, I would just be screwed. But if anyone knows of ways to get out cheeper and not always have to get ARB stuff, let me know, this thing is already expensive as is.

ARB is good quality stuff. I wouldn't try to find cheap stuff to save a few bucks. not on the diffs anyway. Everything ARB offers for the lockers as far as hardware is top notch.

These are just ballpark numbers.

Cheaper route: Generic switches (under $10), viair pressure switch ($30), hardware store fittings (cheap), ARB bulkhead/airline fittings ($20), ARB solenoid ($60 or find one on ebay). Total comes to just over $120 or so. Less if you can find a used solenoid.

ARB/Viair route: ARB switches ($25), viair pressure switch ($30), viair + ARB fittings ($30 or so), ARB solenoid ($60). Total comes to $145 or so. ARB has a repair kit that includes the bulkhead fitting, air line, and 5mm splice (I'm not sure if it has the solenoid press-in fitting or if that comes with a new solenoid).

The difference isn't that much. You still need all the parts to run the locker. Maybe your bud should give you a little better deal on the diff??

It's all fine with me, it's set-up with 5.29 Yukon gears, he did the set-up himself and had it rebuilt by ARB after he removed it just to make it better for a sale. The guy is Crash, he's on this board at times, he was selling his entier BUILT axel but he wanted 1,100 for the thing, so now he just pulled the 3rd. even if I have to pay $200 for all the fittings and switches that's OKAY, a professional install would have cost me that much or more. At least that is how I look at it.
I will prolly be going with an Outback Extream Air, I have a freind that's gona give me a good deal on one of those.
