anyone use these adapter kits for speakers??

I want to upgrade my sound system, the rears are 4'' and i saw these on ebay, supposedly you can mount these kits to use 5 1/4'' speakers. Has anyone used these, are they any good. Thanks http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Speak...QQcmdZViewItem

indeed i bought them 2 months ago. they fit great and do not rattle or make any kind of noise. the added sound is awesome with the bigger speaker!

I did the same as HOJU. Cut out some MDF and make a template and use whatever size speaker you want.

Some brands will, some won't.... It really depends on the size of the magnet. I have Boston rally's in back, I had to trim a useless piece fron the door panel, but it works just fine

Do you know if a 6.5" Infinity Reference will fit back there? Thats what I was planning on using.

Thanks

There is a lot about the adapters in the Electronics Forum. Do a search on Speaker Template. I have 5 1/4's separates in my back doors. The MDF mounts can add up to about 1/2" of extra depth. Pics are in my sig. If I replace them later I am going with 6 1/2" separates.

i thought 5 1/4's were stock...mine were 5 1/4's when i took em out and replaced em...i made my template out of 1/2" plywood though and sealed off the back side for better sq...rear stage is just for fill though...spend more money on better front speakers and an amp.
