anyone running 285/75/ with no lift?

i just came across a good deal on a set of 285/75/16 MTRs. I have no lift and know some of you are running 265/75 without issues. Is it possible to run 285s with out issues or am i guraanteed rubing issues?

You will rub like a few fat girls jumped in your truck. You probably won't rub if you just drive straight, you should definitely try it!

if its really a good deal, you could get them and just save them until you do get a lift.

damn, that's the tires I ultimately want to get. My 265/75s rub on my lower valence with a 2 1/2"-3" lift, but its not bad at all. I kinda thing on a 3rd gen runner you would rub with those, but not so terrible. Buy em and wait for the lift.

They'll fit but you'll have to do some triming in the wheel arches. I'm in the process of doing that with my 35"s so they'll clear through the whole suspension cycle.

Macgyver do you have a website? I want to see some pics of your truck.

Have you seen my article on fitting 35's?

Allen, Will you remove the body lift at that point? If you plan to keep it you won't need to cut nearly as much material but if you remove it and cut you can maintain a really low COG.

He's got procomp wheels so they might have different backspacing causing them to rub a bit.
