Antenna Help

Does anyone know if I can find a replacement for my power antenna that ISN'T a power antenna. Like one that is flexable. My motor AND mast is broken, I am unemployed and can't afford to pay for the entire thing to be replaced. thanks. BTW I got a 2000 4Runner Ltd.

Thanks!

Have you tried any local wrecking yards? for the price of a new non-retracable, you could pick up a used one from another 4runner for less I'm sure. Also look for replacement antenna internal. They do make replacement internals as the nylon gear strips do break on occasion. they usually are not very expensive and its not that hard to replace. Just a thought. Good luck

don't buy a cheap replacement and try to make it work. i just did that with a $13 autozone antenna. It went awful. i'll be going to the junkyard and getting one.

Are you 100% sure the motor is dead, and that the antenna mast track isn't just stripped? The track looks like a plastic zip tie with deeper treads that goes inside the antenna mast. It can get stripped so that the motor can't run the mast up and down.

Yea, I tried replacing the mast already. All the teeth in the motor drive are destroyed.
