Cool Another Vibration Thread...

Hello YT... I'm looking for some follow up ideas on troubleshooting a vibration issue I'm dealing with. Yes I've searched...

Like many... I have a vibration that starts around 65MPH and continues to 72MPH. I can see the vibration in the rear view mirror and certainly hear the loud hum/roar that is generated at these speeds.

- I have new tires (michelins)... I've had them balanced at multiple shops and the dealer to make sure they are not the issue.
- I also had a ujoint replaced and my drive shaft balanced

Neither of the above has fixed the issue or even made a difference as far as I can tell.

Where should I look next... any ideas?

Many Thanks...
-batsoff

I would still bet that your wheels are not balanced right if it is just that range where you get the vibration. You say you had your dealer do it too? That is one of the few places around here that actually does it right!

Do you have after market rims? if so they may not be getting balanced right and or the weights are flying off down the road.... frontend alingment? Not to bust your bubble but it is possible you got a hold of saome bad tires. this can cause issue... dunno where you bought your tires from but i would take them back and say it vidrates like crazy and i want a new set of tires or another set.

I know tires are always the focus... but the vibration was there before I bought the new treads (my first thought was that new tires would help with the issue).

I don't think it's tires at this point...

No aftermartket rims, just standard 5-spoke wheels.

hope they didn't leave any wheels loose.....i'd try a diff place get them balanced. You said they balanced your drive shaft... is there a wieght on it? should be a weight spot welded to the drive shaft if not theres ur issue. Do you have a brush guard or anything on the truck? IF so you would be suprised that these can vidrate going down the road and cause vibration.
