Another Cargo Drawer Build...

Working on completing my rear cargo drawers. About 75% done... Similar but a little different than some of the other builds in the past... I am building two - am planning on selling the other. Will update as I finish...

That looks a lot like what I'm planning, except mine will have an extension for when the seats are folded down.

Do you have measurements?

Also, what kind of wood/slides did you use?

Thanks!

no, exact written down measurements. but basic measurements...
main box to hold drawers was 38x38"
drawers were approx 16"x37"x8"
Top was approx 52"x41"
I used 28" 125# rated drawer slides.
Drawers and box made from 15/32" 4X8 ARAUCO PLYWOOD ACX
Top platform is 3/4" regular plywood.

The top is one solid piece - not mounted to the box - so we can get it in and out without a hinge. It has cleats on the bottom of the platform to keep it in place - and once i add the trap door rings - i will have 4 eyebolts on the bottom of the top platform that will hook to the turnbuckles and keep it all in place.

I still need to add the trap door ring tie downs, the turnbuckles, carpet, latches, etc....

Dam nice. What do you figure it on the weight.I want to build one for carrying everything to the gun range. They are proud of those diamond plated tuffy drawer systems.1,500 is a little steep.

I'd guess around 120lbs. I think if you design it right you could make it lighter. Plus you could just add some diamond plate to the drawer faces if you wanted.

Update...
Pretty much done - just need to add nylon loops to drawer fronts for easier opening...
