Another body lift question, 99 4runner

I have a 99 model and its only 2wd. i just want to put 33's on it but also have it kinda high. I currently have 3" revtek coilspacers and will be putting them on by the end of this week. I would like to purchase a 3" RB Body Lift. I do not know that much about working on this type of thing so im not sure if i could install this myself. dont no how to weld or anything thing like that. What im really wondering is the PRICE for the complete 3" b/l (everything from the blocks to the bumper raiser brackets) that some one has done on there 3rd gen 4runner. I have looked on RB's website and cant get the right pricings because im not sure what all I need. Also im wondering on how to install this after I purchase it... any ideas? im gonna have around 400$ soon to spend on the b/l so hopefully it wont be more then this.
(i have tryed to search the forum for this but cant find the price on 3" and not specificly what i need to know.)

THANX!!!

Dont take it to a shop. Do it yourself...seriously. It's a great beginner's job. Just need a couple sockets and a jack. Roger Brown (4Crawler) has some great instructions and we can help you along the way if you have any troubles. It really is easy though...many many members here have done it themselves thinking they couldnt do it. I myselft thought the same, but I gave it a go...couldnt have been happier I did. You dont need to know a thing...just have to have the right sockets, 2x4, a jack, and some patience.

Roger Rocks by the way...buy from him!

So if I where to go with a 3" bodylift I would choose lift kit F for 111 dollars plus tax. Would I have to extend anything?

Thanx

You'll also need some sort of steering shaft extension (SE) and some sort of radiator reloation (RAD) as noted in my typical it contents.

Its way more lift than you likey *need* to fit that size of tire. But a lot dependson the width and brand of the tire and the width and backspacing of the wheels you are planning to run. Wider tires and/or wider/more offset rims will push the tire out wider and make fitting it harder, especially up front while turning.

Most folks do a 2"-3" suspension lift and a 1"-2" body lift for the 285s on stock wheels. Fits and works well. Lift as much as needed but as little as possible.

too much lift for too little tire...

IMHO it will look kinda retarded and just be an all around bad idea.

EDIT: Looks like Roger beat me to the punch...

I think what Dave is getting at (correct me if I'm wrong) is that you don't need a 3" body lift to clear 33's. A3" BL will be more complicated to install because you'll need to deal with other necessary modifications. See #3 on RB's body lift FAQ's:

"3. What about taller body lifts?
While I categorize a 1" body lift as mild, there are many folks running 2" and 3" body lifts. 3" is pretty much the maximum lift you should consider on the stock mounts. Above this and you should consider raising the mounting bracket on the frame to reduce the leverage caused by the taller blocks.
At 2" on most Toyotas, you will find that in addition to the items that a 1" lift affects, you will need to extend the hydraulic line to the clutch slave cylinder.
A stock front brake line works well for this.
At 1" the radiator shroud was probably OK as-is, but at 2", you should drop the radiator to re-center it on the fan.
Same story on the shift levers, while modifications are optional at 1", they will probably need to be done at 2" and for sure at 3"
You'll also need to let the steering shaft lengthen a bit and chances are the upper engine ground strap may need to be lengthened.
With a 1st gen. 4Runner, a 2" lift allows you to raise the gas tank 2" using the existing pickup mounting holes on the cross member.
At 3", in addition to the above items need attention as well as dealing with fuel lines at the gas tank. One option at the 3" stage is to also lift the entire drive train by a similar amount.
For example, the engine and transmission could be raised for additional break-over angle, the fuel tank could be raised, etc. This will restore many of the interference areas to their original position."

EDIT: looks like everyone beat me to it!

Talking Run 33s

I ran 33s on a 2" RB body lift with very minimal rubbing. Now I have about 5 inches of overall lift and 33s are looking small
