Just out of curiousity has anyone ever gotten their slider stuck on a rock due to the holes in the design like the one pictured above? Maybe a sharp rock angle gets it caught up?

Do they make them with a plate underneath them more like a front transmission skid plate? Sorry if this is a lame question but I just am letting the imagination run on this one.

I'm not going to say nobody has ever gotten these hung up on rocks, but thousands of people run sliders that follow the same basic configuration without any trouble. They are "sliders", designed to slide over rocks. I think the moderate risk of getting a rock stuck in them is very minor and acceptable compared to the added weight of plating.

I know a few who have them, mine are similar but I used 2" x 3/16 square tubing with 1 1/2 x .120 round. I decided not to put the added bend at the back and angled mine upwards.

This summer I saw Jeff almost get a winch anchor stuck between the inner and outer rails. That was not a product of those specific sliders as much as it was a product of sliders in general.

I personally have never gotten a rock stuck there and have slid over quite a few with the sliders. It would have to be a rock that is pretty narrow and straight to fit in. Sharp ones would just slide.

The sliders are angled up about 30 degrees. Therefore, the rock would not only need to point up sharply, but also inward towards the vehicle.
