Aired down on way to work...
I posted yesterday for info on adding weight for extra traction. The feedback I received leaned heavily toward airing down. I left the house this morning (after 22" + drifts from the storm) with the tires at 33 psi and I was feeling my usual "boating"; sliding on top vs. digging in. I stopped and aired down to 28 psi. BIG improvement in the bite.
Thanks to all that replied.

I certainly no longer intend to drag dead weight around now that airing down was so effective. As far as going back to my usual tire pressure when things clear up, I fully intend to. But it's nice to know that reducing the pressure in snow conditions is as simple as pulling over.

Airing down is only good for winter & offroad.
