Airbox mod

I just got finished doing Uk myers Airbox mod, and wow what a difference. I didnt think i would notice that much but after i did it, i was surprised. I notice better torque, throttle response, and it does better at higher rpms. UKMyers writeup was awesome, when i read it i didnt really have a clue on what to do, but once i popped my hood, i just followed his writeup word for word and it was real easy. I recommend this to all you 2nd gen 4runner owners. Good Job on the writeup UK.

I just ripped out the little spoiler and the tube, will do the rest later when I have time. I got to thinking though... maybe you all can give some input.

Is this a good idea or a bad idea?

Would take some drilling, but that is no big deal. Made out of PVC pipe, and the entrance in the valence could have a mesh over it to prevent debris from flying in.
Yes, no?

I think no. If you were to go into water it would lower the point for the water to enter
