Airbag Light On
Hello guys,
I found a 99 Toyota Tacoma SR5 V6 4x4 5 Speeds and I'm interested for it a lot but the Airbag Light is On now. Do you know what's wrong with it? Is there an easy to fix? I need to know the problem before I buy it, that's why I bring this up for you to help me.
I need your subjection please

See if the current owner will take the truck by a parts store such as Advance or Autozone and let the folks there read the airbag codes thru the OBDII.
Depending on what the code is should help you decide...
Bad front sensor, not too bad $$ wise, but if one of the airbags or the DERM is faulty that could be a big expense. Gives you more wiggle room to negotiate the price though, if you really want the truck.

According to the owner told me, he never took it to the dealer or any auto part to scan to see what's wrong with it.
The truck has 6 problems as the following:
1. The Paint is bad
2. The Airbag Light is On
3. The A/C is not cold
4. The Real Bumper is bent
5. The Clutch is not working
6. The left Front Bumper Filler is rusty
The major problems to me are the Airbag Light On, Paint, Clutch, and Real Bumper.
The Paint itself runs me about $800 for the basic paint only at Maaco, but I don't know how much do they charge for the other things. Usually how much do you pay for the repair on those problems?

For like $25, I bought a compatible cable on e-Bay and downloaded Techstream, so I can read them on an old XP laptop. (works best on XP). Here is the thread I used:

I'm not so sure, but thanks for your subjection. The owner claims that the truck is a clean title and it never had any accident before. The real bumper was hit a tree at his backyard when he backed up, but it could be as you said.
