Air Lift 1000...off road?

Does anyone here off road with the Air Lift 1000 air bags? I have them at my house waiting to put them on and was wondering if I could still off road with them on? I think you have to cut the bump stops off but I can not remember. The dealership is going to be putting them on with an on board air system too. I have heard a lot of great things about them for pulling things, but just wondered about the off roading.

There are a few on other forums that have them and love them and they offroad with them. I looked into them while searching for coil options.

I had a pair on mine with the stock springs. I cut off less donuts off the jounce bumpers leaving the main piece plus one donut. Even with low pressure I had a little lift. My stock coils were really sagging. When I towed or hauled a big load it would keep the tail up, when pressurized.

The air line goes through a hole (preexisting, but you do drill it out) in the lower spring perch. I did go off road with them. There were fine but when your axle droops the air bag stays in the center of the spring, not that this is a bad thing. But the air line must feed up thru the hole and not get caught or get stuck under the bag when you come back down. You have to leave ALOT of slack in the air line so the bag can do this. I had a fair amount but I guess not enough and the air line pulled off the bag (no damage, just loss of air). I'm not sure how you can leave enough slack and still keep it from dragging the ground or getting caught on things (remember it comes out of the bottom). I know that threr are people who wheel with them and don't have problems. I know that some people sugest that you do connect the air lines together so the air can flow out of the compressed bag and into the extended bag when flexing. Some also sugest a larger air line to allow the air to flow faster.
