Adjustable Leaf Springs?????
A buddy of mine owns an '03 Taco TRD 4x4 xtra cab V6. He says he got an adjustable extra leaf spring installed in it. All you do is turn a bolt and it supposedly raises the rear end and tightens up the suspension as if you had an extra leaf spring. But he doesn't know which bolt to turn to tighten it (I guess he should have asked where he had it installed). I guess I just find this odd, I've never heard of an adjustable leaf spring system before. It looked to me like they just added this really thick helper spring on the bottom. The suspension didn't feel any firmer to me judging by the hand push down on tail gate test. Any thoughts or info? Ever heard of this?

Sorry, maybe I should say it a little more correctly.
He has his rear leaf springs, the stock ones. And then there is what appears to be a really thick helper spring that was installed underneath the stock springs. I think this is the "extra leaf spring," but supposedly, he says, that you turn a bolt and it makes this helper spring effective, as an extra leaf spring, where as if you loosen or turn the bolt the other way, it makes the suspension ride like it was if the helper wasn't there. If that makes anymore sense? I just thought it was kinda weird, that's all.

Nope, that's not it. His are just plain steel, the same colour steel as the stock ones, however they are ever so slightly narrower than the stock springs. And they don't have those plastic stops. He got his for like $100 CDN or something. They are in the same location as the ones you mentioned, however I don't think any of the stock leaf springs were removed which it sounds like in the one you linked to you need to remove the bottom spring to put the tokico composite one in place of.
