About to buy a 2005 Taco Double Cab 4wd....?'s

Well, being that I was a former very active member of this forum, I figured I'd come back and see if anyone had any good knowledge on the '05 Taco's. I'm looking at maybe even picking one up in the morning (they have a double cab in stock that I like) and curious if anyone on the forums has done anything to one yet. (Lifts/lockers/ect). I found pics on tough country's website showing a spacer lift (very cheap, looks nice) but curious if anyone knows of complete lifts available yet, and how they are doing offroad (if anyone has yet on the forums). I'll be getting the TRD sport package...

Any ideas/knowledge much appreciated!

I bought a 2005 Tacoma DC PreRunner 2 weeks ago. I like it a lot, there are a few quirks that need to be worked out, such as soft paint it seems and the drivers seat clicks. The lower lumbar support does it, more than one person have the problem. Minor things on a 1st year vehicle.

If you have any questions, shoot.

Be sure to tighten up the bolts on the e-brake. My dad's 05 stopped working after about a 1000 miles when two bolts came loose. Toyota has recalled the bolts, saying that were not properly tightened from the factory, it was a really easy fix. Anyway, my dad has around 6000 on his already and has had no problems. He got the 4.0L and the auto, really likes the truck and has been getting close to 22 MPG.

The only other problem is the plastic bed- everyone says it won't support the weight of a lumber rack. My dad absolutely needs a lumber rack and is trying to do everything he can to make it work. We are thinking of trying to fab up some metal supports that go tie into the frame and go under the bed rails. We need to get more info from Toyota and TRD before we try this.
