A340F Transmission Filter Gaskets
Well, as part of the transmission flush I'm planning on doing on my 2002 4R, I'm planning on dropping the pan, removing/cleaning the filter screen, then re-installing the screen with 5 new gaskets. Problem is, I went to the local Toyo dealer to order the gaskets, and the parts guy says: "There are no gaskets between the filter screen and the valve body on the A340F transmission", to which I responded: "Yes there is - five of them to be exact. Can you check again please?" He tapped away on his computer for a few minutes and told me the same thing again.
So I pulled out my drawing from the A340F transmission FSM, and showed him the 5 gaskets in the picture. (See attached file) He pulled out his copy of the FSM, and sure enough he found them in there also, but no part numbers.
So my question is, for those of you that have removed the transmission filter screen to clean it in the A340F transmission, did you replace the gaskets between the valve body and the filter, or just re-use the old ones. If you used new ones, did you get OEM replacements and do you have part numbers for them? Thanks.

The FSM says to: "install 5 new gaskets.", and although you're likely right that they can be re-used with no problems, if I can buy new ones, I'd like to replace them while I'm in there.

You can see the bolts in this pic:
There can be issues if the gaskets are not seated or are not there at all (as Gadget mentions):

I have not had any issues with just pulling and cleaning the filter, but if your gaskets are damaged or missing (you only need to worry about the 3 cork gaskets for the inlets, the other 2 are just simple spacer grommets) when you pull the filter, you'd be best off replacing the filter (the gaskets have never stuck or become damaged during the several times I have done mine).

Thanks for the replies, guys. Looks like I'll be re-using the old gaskets when I do mine also.
What does the other side (top) of the filter assembly look like? I assume it's just the metal casing with holes where the gaskets go? Reason I ask is from the picture above, it doesn't look very easy to do a good inspection/cleaning of the screen. To clean it, do you just spray a cleaner (like brake cleaner) as best as you can through the filter inlet port, then blow some air through the filter outlet ports (where the gaskets go)?

I figured it would look like the picture attached below. I know the picture isn't the filter for an A340F transmission, but I figured that the design would be similar (I couldn't find a picture of the top side of the A340F filter).
If it's not designed like the attached picture, it wouldn't make sense to have the small gaskets in there at all. If the whole screen was exposed on the top side of the filter, then you would have a large gasket around the whole circumference of the filter, wouldn't you?
