99 4runner SR5 v6

I was in a salvage yard the other day and found some front seatbelts to replace mine that are locked up (airbag deployment). I pulled on the belts to make sure thet were'nt locked up and they extended and retracted fine. So I told Fernando I wanted them and he removed them for me.

The problem is now that they were allowed to retract as far as they could they will only extend a tiny bit and then they catch and stop. Is there a trick to get them to extend?

a pendulum locks them. remove and rotate the assembly on xyz axis and it should
eventually unlock. then pull some out and bolt them back in

Thanks for the input, I'll try that. I figured if I had to I could take my old ones apart and see how they work. Just seemed odd that after I got them home they would not extend.
