99 runner What are the strut/ shock of choice these days?

I had yellow bilsteins but they are toast. Time for a new set.
Any recommendations or just replace with the same.
Generally stock suspension set up.

Also have to replace my hankook dynapro's
Go with the same or is there a better choice in that price range?
Thanks!!

I'm looking for the same information.

What does everyone think for a pretty much stock setup?

Thanks,

Erich

billy 5100s are nice for a stock setup but not much stiffer than stock, i think the adjustable ranchos are better..

KYB is a popular Japanese company for replacing a stock setup as well.

OP, check them out and do the research

it all depends on the kind of ride and height do you prefer.

for shocks, you have bilstein 5100, tokico trekmasters, icon, asd..

you will also need to replace the coil springs in which case you might like to try the tundra trd coils together with the bilstein 5100 for the tundra.

Recently made the change to Rancho 9000xl's and much prefer them over the KYB MonoMax I had on my 96 4runner with 99 springs. Also better than bilsteins that I had on my 2000 TRD Tacoma.

the Bilstein 5100 for the Tacoma has a softer valving compared to the Bilstein 5100 for the 1999-2006 Tundra so if you prefer a firmer ride, get the 5100 for the Tundra.
