You can do it but it's going to end up costing around $1k by the time you are done.

Sounds cool but many have already looked into it and decided against doing so because of $$$$.
If you need to have it, you'll save yourself money just buying a limited instead.

Which brings me to think...

How hard would it be to take a 99+ center piece and put it into a 98? I haven't looked at a 99+ interior in a while so, I wonder how hard it would be? Do the holes line up? For the stereo and climate controlls? I'll look for pics now, to see if i'm just trying to crawl up the same tree, but it could just be a drop in mod... hmm...

turbo,

the main difference are that the AC ducts are split by the clock in the 99. Moving downwards, the buttons for the hazard, defroster, etc are located on a "strip" right below the AC vents.

the AC duct would be easy to fix because all you would have to do is to buy the inside ac duct from your parts guy. howver, i dont know if the 98 clock harness would fit a 99. i would guess so.

the hazard, defroster, etc strip would probably be the most difficult. im guessing that you'd have to buy the part$$$$$$$.

Everything below that is nearly identical to the 98 except that the 99 has one more 12v accessory plug.

Thanks bob,
I'll have to see if I can find a wrecked one or something... Its not too high on my list of mods, espcially since I don't have a headunit right now :pat: But, if I find something you guys will be sure to know.
