99 4runner hard time starting and dieing out on road on fly
My 99 toyota 4runner had issues of starting up. After a few cranks of not starting boom it start up. After a week of this problem happening maybe 2 or 3 times during the week, I decied to replace my fuel pump and strainer. After done that it started up the first time and I took it for a spin for about 10 miles nothing happing but after I turned it off after coming back. I decided to take it for another run..everything was smooth so I decided to open her up and full throtle it. Then coming to a stop sign slowing down it died out then I pulled over put it in park and started it right back up then after coming home I checked out the fuel pump wire harness the power wire was really hot. Is that normal?? After turning it off for a few mins I started my truck back up after running for a few mins it died out once again? Can anyone help me out ? This is my family transportation so I need it reliable once again.
Thank you!

Don't know about the fuel pump, but have you tried cleaning the throttle body and idle air control valve (look up how to clean IAC). My IAC was clogged and my 4runner would randomly die driving up to a stop light.

I changed my IAC about a year ago. I remebered geting a engine check light also with my IAC and changed it and cleared the code out. With the problem IM geting now it isnt throwing my a engine check light or code. could it be a main fuel pump relay failing on me?
any help would be great thanks!
