97 taco front. 02 sensor replacement: how to tips
Couldnt find much info on getting to the front. 02 sensor on my 97 tacoma v6 manual trans, comector so i thought id share the experiance.
After runing the wires down and finding that the conector was on top of the tranny i removed the center console and the boots to gain access to thru the floor. There is a bolt(14mm) just forward of the transfer shifter with a bracket that the connector is attatched to, there is also another conector on right side attatched to another bracket unplug the 2 wire conector . Now go back undeneath and disconect the wires going in the side of the tranny on the exhaust side( not sure what this is for) this allows slack in the wirring harness. Now u can unbolt the sensor and you can roll the harness over top of tranny and have enough room to disconect the conector. I bought the universal denso sensors and brought into work to splice. I will try to get pics up tom . Almost forgot theres another bracket that houses another conector on the top exhaust side of tranny that needs to be removed also, i was able to take 2 long extensions and a 14 mm socket and go in from the back of tranny. Hope this helps some 1
