97 4runner power radio antenna help
Ok when i bought my 4runner it did not have an antenna. its just a hole LOL. Anyway i was wondering where can i buy an antenna like does it have to be a certain kind. like 97 4runner or just toyota in general. I want a powered antenna BTW but if not i would go with a normal 1. And also how do I install it? Please post links for both questions.
Thanks
BTW its a 97 Limited. and i was on ebay and saw these 2 things. so wat 1 would i need?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-9...item3efebd8902
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Power...item2306fef49a

That's your best option in my opinion, and a great write up as well (he has a ton of great ones on his site)...I say this because I have replaced the power antennas twice before i finally gave up on those POS plastic motor feed cables they use to raise and lower the mast. If i were you I'd opt for the tacoma whip antenna as it is cheaper, easier to deal with, wont break (unless you leave it on in a car wash *stay out of those anyway, my two cents*) and it is said to have better reception. Last time my power mast broke, i just pulled the plastic feed cable out, disconnected the remote antenna power cable from the back of the radio (to keep it from giving the antenna motor any power) and pushed the mast back down into the fender well. I hardly listen to the radio as it is and when I do, the wire antenna in the rear passenger cargo glass and the power antenna down provides plenty of signal strength. Plus, i like the clean and uninterrupted look it gives the front end...doesnt look so off balance with an antenna on one side.
