As the title suggests, I've got a '97 2.4L 2RZ-FE 2wd Tacoma; the truck has the Toyota A43D / Aisin 30-71 / AW71 in it that is burned up and I can't find a replacement. The junkyards all list the early '97 transmission (production break 5/97) as being different from the late '97 transmission but I can't figure out why? The yards do list the 97-later A43D as being in the same family but not a direct swap and I'm trying to figure out if that will work in my application? If the later A43D won't work what will or is this thing doomed?
