95 fuel pump problem?
I just hit the 169k mark and have been putting a little extra care into my runner. New Bfg's, new starter, belts, fuel filter, rotors, pcv valve....etc and was saving up for a new set of OME shocks and rear springs but last night after power washing the outside and under the fenders, my runner died on me at a stop light.
After i got it home I looked for water around the dist cap, coil, or any thing else that may have accidently gotten wet but the engine compartment was bone dry.
Today I went out side and it started right up just fine so I let it idle for about 20 min to see if things changed after warming up. I was getting ready to pack up my little girl and go for a test ride when I decided to rev up the engine to my normal driving range,, 2500 to 3000 rpm then when I let off the gas my truck died just like it did the night before. I played with it for a bit and noticed that I had to turn the key all the way off before the truck would start again.
I have looked at all the fuses and even jumped the diag terminals to run the fuel pump and can hear it running but I have no idea what a good running pump sounds like or if this is even the problem......
Any suggestions on where to start looking next?

you should start by checking fuel pressure, hook it up and tape the gauge to the winsheild and go for a drive.if pressure is fine pull the line off at intake and check the flow rate. 2 to 3 liters per minute, i think. remember an engine needs three things fuel fire and compression to run.
