89 runner vs. 84 pickup
i currently own an 84 pickup with a rebuilt motor, 31's BFG at's and on board air, someone in town wants to trade me for an 1989 yota 4 runner w/ a v6 and IFS but with 150,000 miles both are 4x4...what would you guys do? the extra space and power would be nice and efi for the rockies

I, when faced with the same choices, decided to go with the 4Runner due to the increased versatility and security (got tired of losing whole tool boxes) and you can always SAS it out to increase it's offroadability.

hmmmm....how often do you actually wheel it?
If it is a daily driver...go with the 4runner. If it is a trail rig, the solid axle pickup is more capable and will be easier to fix if you bash a rear quarter panel.
As stated above you could always SA the 89...which is the ultimate goal in my opinion. At that point there would be no reason to look back to the 84.
