Question 6.5" front speakers in a 1995 4Runner?

I would like to install 6.5" Sony Xplod speakers in my 1995 4Runner. I was told by a few stores they will not fit in the doors and the dash is out of the question, what can I do other than Q-Logic kick panels?

Anyone else make something to mount these to the door panels?

Thanks
Shane

Hi Shane, and welcome to the forum.

This exact same question came up the other day.
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...hlight=speaker

Although Glenn's question was for the 1st gen, the info on my pod page might be of benefit to you.
I am running 6.5" seakers in my front doors.
The link above will show how.

Have a car audio shop fab you up some of these, or if you are good at wood working, they would not be to hard to make.

relocate the pocket and cut a hole?

can you relocate the map pocket and cut a hole in bottom corner?
I did that once with a 92 4x4 P/U (of course it had vented windows).

Thanks for the welcome, I have owned my truck for almost a year now and I like this web site!

That is what the previous owner of my rig did.
I thought all 2nd gen doors were like mine with the map pocket at the back of the door, until I saw pics on here.

Mine were just relocated to the back to make room for the pods.
Looks very easy to do.

We are glad you like the site here also

Hail greased lightening!!

or

I don't EVEN want to know what you are doing with that at your desk..

I always end up starting a post, getting up from the computer, then returning to complete it without looking to see if there were any other posts. Is Amsoil the grease that will make me post faster? I have some Valvoline synthetic, maybe that's my problem...

Almost...
I get a lot of use out of my Sony.
I try to take it with me also when I go for a drive in case I come across anything bizzare.
