i have 315k on my '79. a teacher of mine in high school had 600k on his '82, and it still ran fine

i've heard if you send toyota a pic of your odometer and you're in the 300,000 mile club, they'll send you a gold keychain or something to that effect

255,000 and counting now.....havent turned the engine over in 5 days though waiting for my timing belt kit to get here...

So 45K to go to get my gold keychain! LoL

btw in that link they talk about a chevy avalanche being bought back by the dealer....LOL

WELLL the Vortec 6000 and Vortec 8100 both have SERIOUS oil consumption problems. 1 qt being burned off every 1000 miles is considered NORMAL!! Not even my old super leaky engine goes through that much oil!!

There are no losses in my case. The manager knows about my servicing as he often is involved in them if he's not busy. The mechanics do the service whenever they have a free moment (doesn't take very long). I pay for the oil and oem filter at cost and a quick once over by the mechanic and she's ready until next service.

I don't know about you, but where I live (Canada), the Yota dealerships are actually relatively competitive in terms of servicing to that of the generic oil change/maintenance shops.

Remember the "Tell your 100,200,300K mile story" a couple years back,The old man who won with over 900K on his '69 hilux gets a new truck every year for the rest of his life. And get this, his choice of trucks, too.

"I have a customer that has 670,000 & some odd miles on an old Chevy truck. Chevy (not a stealership) offerd him a brand new truck (2 years ago) for it but he refused. I asked him why he refused and he replied in a sarcastic voice "It's lasted this long, why do they think I would want to get rid of it?"

I like this. I have 427k on my '96 and i was shooting for the million miles but I think now I am driving it till it dies and then I will make it into a rock crawler, lol,

I've got 320,000 miles on my 99 limted. I took my family on a 1,000 round trip vacation this past summer without any worries. I would not have done that if I had any quesitons about it.

500,000 will be easy.

Red face

I could see a Dealer doing that and then make a big production out of it with Hot Dogs and Pony Rides !!

It would be a Huge advertising write off
