Hello everyone...
While doing some off roading today, my friends noticed my front tires were not spinning at all while going through a mud hole...When I got home, I jacked the truck up and verified the front driveshaft was working and then proceeded to check the function of the manual hubs... I jacked the left side of the truck up and noticed the cv axle(by hand) would spin with the tire even if the hub was locked or unlocked, but not by itself (when entire vehicle was jacked up and put in 4wd)..
Now on the right side, the cv would not spin with the tire( hub locked or unlocked),..As a matter of fact, the right side only spun when the entire front is jacked up and I spin the left side by hand...It definately seems as if the front hubs are not operating properly, but I am a little confused on why one side spins all the time, and the other one wont spin at all(unless the opposite side is turned..)And like I said, with the entire truck off the ground, neither tire will spin when the 4wd is engauged....Any help would be much appriciated....Again this is a 89 4 runner with factory manual lock. hubs, and open diffs..
