4Runner Dash any different within Gen 2 models

Is there any thing different with Gen 2 dashes in 4Runners between a 3.0 or a 22re? I am putting a Gen 2 efi on my 22r 87 pickup and was thinking of installing a Gen 2 dash so I would'nt have to do any wire splicing in the dash. Just want to be sure I don't need a dash out of a 22re rig only.

Hmmmm.....a little wire splicing sounds alot easier than trying to fit a 2nd gen dash into a 1st gen runner. I really don't even think there would be any splicing, just an ECU swap. Someone may prove me wrong...........

v6 and 22r-22re will work but the tach will be off and a 2gen 4runner cluster in a 2gen truck good luck with that
