If it sounds too good to be true then it is and in this case for sure.

Probably the same resister thev'e been selling for years. Just sends a constant temp. reading to your ecu to think its always cold.

Obviously the +20 HP claim is bs. But do you think it would help at all?

Designed for 88-04 4Runner and Rav4. That's covering a lot of different engines in one package. Why not throw in actually similar engines? That would make it a lot more believable. It's BS.

This question comes up a LOT around here.

The short form is that it's a canned version of this mod:
https://www.yotatech.com/~corey/tech/dr_z_ect/dr_z.htm

Does it "work"? Yeah, you can feel a difference in some situations, but don't think that it's 20hp across the board and that you're gonna smoke that ricer.

no way

dude, i heard about this same "cheap" performance ship.... how can a real performanc chip from JET cost about $250 or so... but this is 24.99? um, and the sending a constant cold temp reading... do you really think that is good for the engine... i think if TRD would have come up with real performance mods this cheap... then i'd get it.. but not this... sounds like a fluke.... no go for me...

I dont think the mod in itself would hurt the engine. But it may cause it to ping a little easier due to increased timing, but it also adds more fuel as far as I know. that would help against ping.

I dont see how they can say it adds 20HP when the sensor is ignored by the computer at WOT. Are they dyno testing at part throttle

As has been said, would help with part throttle towing and such.

But as far as increased WOT performance Im gonna have to say I think its BS.

The jet chip is just the oppisite. It actually changes the fuel and timing curves at WOT. Giving a true increase in WOT performance and doing nothing at part throttle.

You can do this mod WAY cheaper than what their selling it for on ebay.
